Howdy CTR fans,

The route changes have been vetted and the track more or less finalized for this year. All that info available in the above post. The route is wilder, less pavement, same resupplies, gonna be great!

Trackleaders sign up for group start will be July 2nd, finalizing time and will announce soon. If anyone’s headed out in an ITT let me know can get you the link.

A heads up to anyone planning on being out there this year, it is dry, really dry. Driest conditions I have seen in the mountains around here, it is very hot and almost no rain in weeks. Water sources will be fewer for sure, the heat is considerable, that combo can be bad news. FarOut App might be clutch. Plan on bringing more water capacity!!! Hopefully a monsoon cycle starts without much lightning….

That’s the other warning. Fires. Hot plus dry equals extreme wildfire danger. Again hoping we get moisture before anything goes up in flames. The CTR will do its best to keep a viable route if a fire shuts down a section, that being said our resources are limited. It is every riders responsibility to be aware and know more than just that track line as it could be necessary to avoid/leave the route if fire breaks out. If fire danger is too extreme no group start could be a possibility, but hopefully not.
