The 2024 group start is full and the waitlist already fairly long. ITT’s 24 hours before or after the group start are good to go!
The 2024 CTR Group Start will be Waterton Canyon, 4:AM, Sunday August 11th. Gather at the Denver Audubon Kingery Parking lot just before Waterton Canyon. Be Ready To Roll Out At 4!!!
There is still a lot of time before the Group Start and there will be some updates to the below information.

There is no formal registration!!! Trackleaders will be used to keep a tally of riders wanting to be tracked, sign up for Trackleaders won’t be until a month out from Group Start, so do not expect to register till July 11th 2024! Please do not contact me trying to save you a spot in the group start, that is not how this works. Be patient, so far the actual number of riders in the past year’s Group Starts has not hit the limit of 74 riders and again ITT’s are welcome anytime 24 hours before or after the group start date. Sign up for Trackleaders will be available for ITT’s once things have dried out.
The CTR is continuing its collective sponsorship of two Colorado Trail Foundation Trail Crews. Giving back and paying it forward are important parts of the trail community and the CTR is committed to doing it’s part in keeping this trail accessible and enjoyable. https://coloradotrail.org/donate-special-cause/ Please consider giving a minimum $50 if you plan to ride or race the CT, it’s not a lot per person but that will fund two trail crews! Family and friends of the CTR are welcome to give as well.
The CTR is also partnering with the Be Good Foundation to create a scholarship for folks wanting to thru-ride or race the CTR. These scholarships will boost the diversity and depth of the stories written out there on the trail and woven into our community by focusing on getting more women and BIPOC athletes on the CT. This is an amazing opportunity to share the wonders of the CT on a bike with a greater audience. Please consider how much your experiences, or the experiences of others on the CT means to you and share that experience by donating here:https://www.thebegoodfoundation.org/coloradotrailscholarship

A quick bit about rules. If you do not want to strictly follow the CTR rules, or the CTR course, or want to take your time on the CT, please consider touring it or simply riding it on your own. Riding the Colorado Trail is just as amazing of an experience as racing it and allows many riders the flexibility to perhaps have a better time. To be clear, there are lots of ways to experience the CT outside of the race and all the rules, start time, etc, that go along with it. Want to take a film crew and make a movie, or have family and friends meet you at trailheads, go for it, but not as part of the CTR. Want to skip a few sections, why not, but don’t compare yourself to those who ride 100% of the course. There are plenty of opportunities and ways to ride the CT and the CTR is just one of them and is focused on a self supported, go as fast as you can style on the prescribed course.
Past Finishers! The CTF is looking to record your completion of the trail, your added numbers help them get additional funding, gauge trail use, etc, You Get Recognized for your effort! Follow link: https://coloradotrail.org/completer-certificate-request/ This goes for finishers of the CTR going forth, let the CTF know about your ride.
